Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 October 2026
This policy explains how Wolf Technologies ("we", "us") processes personal data when you use Atlas Animation Buddy. We are the data controller. Contact: support@wolftechnologies.co.uk.
1. Data we collect
| Data | Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Email address, hashed password (managed by AWS Cognito) | Account creation, sign-in, password reset | Contract |
| Project content: ideas, scripts, storyboards, generated images, audio and video | Providing the Service | Contract |
| Credit balance, purchase and usage ledger | Metering, billing, fraud prevention | Contract / legitimate interest |
| Payment details (processed by Stripe — we never see your card number) | Payments, subscriptions, VAT compliance | Contract / legal obligation |
| App Store purchases: a record of each purchase in the iOS app — the credit pack or membership, the price and currency, the App Store country, whether it started a free trial or was refunded, and Apple's transaction identifiers (payment is handled by Apple — we never see your card details) | Delivering and restoring what you bought, counting purchases and refunds, and measuring which of our App Store ads lead to purchases (see section 2) | Contract / legitimate interest |
| Advertising measurement: if you installed the iOS app after tapping or seeing one of our App Store ads, the identifiers Apple gives us for that ad (see section 2) | Measuring which of our own App Store ads bring people to the app and lead to purchases | Legitimate interest |
| Basic usage events (sign-ups, jobs run, renders completed, opening the store, tapping a credit pack, a cancelled or failed purchase and its store error code) | Service analytics, capacity planning, finding and fixing purchase problems | Legitimate interest |
| Video feedback you choose to send (thumbs up or down, the issues you tick, your comment, and a summary of the video's settings) | Improving the quality of generated videos | Consent (it is always optional) / legitimate interest |
We do not use advertising trackers and we do not build advertising profiles. We do measure our own App Store ads, as described in section 2; this is not tracking.
2. Measuring our App Store ads
We advertise Atlas Animation Buddy on the App Store through Apple Ads. When the iOS app first opens on an iPhone or iPad, it asks Apple's AdServices framework for a short-lived attribution token. Once you are signed in, the app passes that token to our server, which sends it to Apple. If your install followed a tap on (or a view of) one of our ads, Apple replies with the identifiers of our campaign, ad group, keyword and ad, the App Store country, where the ad was shown and the date. If it did not, Apple tells us so and we record only that. The website does not do any of this.
- We store this with your account, and keep a copy with each App Store purchase record, to measure which of our ads bring people to Atlas Animation Buddy and which lead to purchases of credit packs and memberships. We use it only for that.
- This is not tracking. Apple tells us only about our own ads; we do not combine this with data from other companies' apps or websites; and the app does not use your device's advertising identifier or ask for permission to track you.
- Apple does not give us your name, email address or any other detail about you through this, and the record, with its copies, is deleted with your account.
3. Processors and where data lives
- Amazon Web Services (primary region: London, eu-west-2) — authentication (Cognito), storage (S3, DynamoDB), compute (Lambda) and AI generation (Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Polly). Image generation calls are processed in AWS's US West (Oregon) region.
- Stripe — payment processing. See Stripe's privacy policy for how they handle card data.
- Apple Ads (AdServices) — tells us whether an install of the iOS app followed one of our App Store ads, as described in section 2.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. Your prompts and generated content are not used to train AI models.
4. Retention
- Account and project data: kept while your account is open.
- Video feedback: kept while your account is open (also after you delete the video it was about), and deleted with your account.
- The advertising-measurement record (section 2) and our record of each App Store purchase, which keeps a copy of it: kept while your account is open, and deleted with your account.
- Usage events: deleted automatically after 90 days.
- Account deletion (available in Settings): permanently removes your Cognito account, database records and stored media, normally within 30 days of the request.
- Payment and ledger records: retained as required for tax and accounting law (typically 6 years), even after account deletion.
5. Your rights (UK/EU GDPR)
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Most of these are self-service: you can edit projects, download your videos, and delete your account in-app. For anything else email support@wolftechnologies.co.uk. You may also complain to the ICO (UK) or your local supervisory authority.
6. Cookies and local storage
We use only strictly necessary browser storage: authentication tokens (AWS Cognito session) and your interface preferences (e.g. theme). The iOS app also keeps the short-lived token for measuring our App Store ads (section 2) on your device until our server has used it. No third-party advertising cookies are set.
7. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AWS-managed encryption). Generated media is stored in a private bucket and served only through short-lived signed URLs scoped to your account.
9. Changes
We will post any material changes to this policy here and, for significant changes, notify you by email.
